Building Little Faith: Start Small, Watch It Grow
Share
It’s such a joy to watch little ones discover the world around them, isn’t it? As parents and grandparents, we have the beautiful responsibility to plant seeds of faith that will grow as they do. The good news? You don’t need to be a Bible scholar or have hours of free time to start teaching God’s love—small steps can make a big difference.
Here are three simple ways to begin:
1. Meal Prayers: Start by thanking God for the food on your plate. Something as short and sweet as, “Thank you, Jesus, for this meal and our family” can teach gratitude and the habit of prayer.
2. Bedtime Blessings: End the day with a moment of peace. Share a comforting Bible verse like “Fear not, for I am with you...” (Isaiah 41:10). Add a hug and prayer, and you’ve created a memory they’ll carry forever.
3. Nature Walks with a Purpose: On your next stroll, point out the beauty of God’s creation—a colorful flower, a singing bird, or even the clouds. Remind your little one that God made it all for us to enjoy.
🌟 For Grandparents: Whether you see your grandchildren daily or just occasionally, it’s okay to weave faith into your time together. Use these ideas as moments to bond and share God’s love, even during a quick visit or a sleepover.
Faith-building doesn’t have to be complicated. Start with one idea this week or month—whatever works for you—and watch those little seeds grow.
With faith and joy,
